Practice: | Lets draw some pictures and make a problem and see if were adding double facts or not. Draw a spider with 4 legs on each side of him. How many legs total does the spider have? Eight is right how did you know that? Lets make a problem out of this. How many legs are on one side of the spider? 4 that's right and how many legs are on the other side of the spider? 4 thats right now lets make a problem out of this. 4+4=8 now is this adding doubles.Yes, why becuase were adding the same digit twice. Now draw 4 eggs on one side of the spider and 2 eggs on the other. How many eggs to we have? 6 is right now lets make a problem. 4+2=6 is this adding doubles? No becuase we'er adding 2 different digits. |
