Content: | Understanding the concept of angles, and types of angles. Learn to measure and draw the angles with the help of protractor. Angle is the intersection of two rays/straight lines with a common end point. Types of Angles- Acute, Right, Obtuse and Straight angle. Acute angle measures less than 90'. Right angle measures exactly 90'. Obtuse angle measures more than 90' but less than 180'.Straight angle measures exactly 180'. |
Goals: | Students will understand the concept of angle. Recognize various types of angles by measuring the size in degree. They will also draw various types of angles using Ruler and Protractor. |
Objectives: | Upon completion of this lesson students will be expected to measure the size each angles using protractor. They can draw using a protractor. Students will draw 2-D shapes like triangles, squares, rectangles accurately while understanding the concept of angle. |
Materials: | Rulers, Protractors, flashcards showing the types of angles, A Poster covering this Topic, A miniclip presentation on this topic and worksheets related to this topic. |
Introduction: | Ideas & objectives of the lesson: Teacher will draw two straight lines intersecting each other on the chalk board and give them(students) concepts of angle. Also give them the concept of various types of angles. |
Development: | Teacher will use the poster covering the topic or show them the educational mini-clip with the help of overhead projector to demonstrate angle and types of angles. |
Practice: | Students are given worksheets as in-class assignment to practice the skills or extend the knowledge on their own. Teacher will show students the flashcards, and students have to answer. |
Accommodations: | Teacher will show them the educational mini-clip with the help of overhead projector to demonstrate angle and types of angles. |
Checking For Understanding: | Teacher will ask various questions in the class related to this topic and students have to answer. Teacher will take a class test on this topic. |
