Goals:
 1.Demonstrate the understanding of the use of the past simple of can, have, be) 2.Practice acting out dialogues in pairs to give directions.
Objectives:
 1. Recognize the past simple of verb "to be" i.e. was and were. 2. Determine the past simple of "have" i.e. had. 3. Identify the past simple of "can" i.e. could. 4. Apply the last items in answering exercises like filling in gaps in dialogues, etc.. 5. Employ the same items to fill in missing parts in tables. 6. Apply the prepositions of place (in front of, opposite, next to, on and between).
Materials:
 Enterprise1 Coursebook, Data show , white BB
Introduction:
 How old are you? Do you remember the time when you were young? What could you do when you were 10 years old?
Development:
 How old were you five years ago? Now & Then What can you do now? What couldn't you do when you were young?
Practice:
 Article about a place then and now; Reading and make a comparison between What is there now & What was there fift years ago?

Checking For Understanding:
 Answer comprehension questions after reading the passage. Use was , were , wasn't, weren't in 5 five sentences.
Closure:
 Describing the changes in your town now. There is../ There are.. Describe the changes in your town 50 years ago.There was.../There were.......
Evaluation:
 SS could differentiate between be in the present and in the past. SS write 5 sentences on their own. SS answer exercises in the Workbook.
Teacher Reflections:
 Students were highly responsive, SS could answer most of the exercises correctly. SS were highly motivated.
