Content:
 The class will revolve around learning the rules for finding the subject in a sentence and then practicing.
Goals:
 Students will know what the subject of a sentence is.
Objectives:
 Students will identify what the subject of a sentence is. They will apply this knowledge by creating a subject for a sentence and making 3 sentences for the word.
Materials:
 Pen/pencil and paper
Introduction:
 The warm up will be write a paragraph about something exciting you did this summer.
Development:
 I will then pass out notes on subject and go over them with the students. I will ask them to add on to the notes I have given them. And model that on overhead/Elmo. After notes I will introduce the activity which will make a sentence with a subject then make 2 other sentences with the same subject. I will model the activity on overhead/Elmo.

Accommodations:
 The notes for ELL's will be modified with with key terms translated and a summary of the notes/instructions in spanish. I will also have modified notes for special education students. I also will have a separate worksheet with 3 sentences and they have to pick out the subject rather than create their own if needed. I will follow whatever their IEP tells me to do.
Checking For Understanding:
 I will walk around and check for understanding. Then I will take up their warm up and their sentences.
Closure:
 I will summarize how to find the subject of a sentence and write a couple of sentences on the board and ask students to tell me what the subject is until the bell rings.
