Materials: | book: Green Wilma writing page with picture and lines for writing modeled example of picture already colored crayons chart paper of blank journal page for demonstration |
Introduction: | -read fun book, green Wilma -remind students how we talked about frogs and how sensitive their skin is and that they should be left in the environment |
Development: | -hold up example of picture and ask students what they see. What is the boy doing? Why? How does it make a difference? Draw attention to the details of the picture -ask each student what they see in the picture e.g. what they will write about -model an example on chart paper having the children help to sound out the words |
Practice: | -children work in small groups of six with teacher support |
Accommodations: | -drawing upon prior knowledge -cross curricular connection -scaffolded and modeled instruction -small group support |
