Content:
 Nouns: Person, places, things, or ideas in a sentence. Ex. My dog can run and play. Dog is the noun.
Goals:
 When reading sentences, students will be able to distinguish nouns from other parts of grammar; like pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs.
Objectives:
 Students will be able to recognize nouns that appear in a sentence.
Materials:
 Grammar Book and Worksheet
Introduction:
 Ask students what kinds of things are important to them. Like friends, family, pets, etc.
Development:
 Explain to the students that nouns can be people, places, things, or ideas.
Practice:
 Use some of the students important items in sentences and point out the nouns in each sentences.
Accommodations:
 Have some of the students who don't seem to fully understand nouns pair up with a student who can help explain what nouns are.
Checking For Understanding:
 Give out the worksheet and read over directions. Have students work in class. Walk around and visually see which students totally understand and which ones may need more one on one.
Closure:
 Maybe check in class a couple of sentences from the worksheet. This may be the perfect opportunity to re-teach what nouns are, if needed.
Evaluation:
 Review checked papers and see which students may need extra practice. You may need to do some one on one for better explaining and examples.
Teacher Reflections:
 Look back over the lesson and see what or if there are things that you need to change about he the lesson that may need to be improved. Maybe incorporate some more ideas on how to present the lesson differently. A lesson can always be presented differently or changed.
