Topic:
 Researching Animals
Content:
The kids are told to choose a common animal and find facts to eventually put a PowerPoint presentation together with the help of the teacher.
Goals:
The goal is to develop skills for PowerPoint at a young age. This lesson will also teach the children about researching topics which is a good skill for later on.
Objectives:
I am expecting each child to put a lot of effort into this because they are reaching the age that it is becoming critical to learn to be more independant.
Materials:
 Computer, K,W,L chart
Introduction:
Today the children will be researching a common animal of their choice and creating a PowerPoint with the assistance of the teacher.
Development:
Make a sample page with the help of the class on an animal to give them a feel for what they will be doing later.
Practice:
Have them create one page as a group to show the progress in which they are developing. If they are progressing then they can move on to indivisual practice.
Accommodations:
If they are having a tremendous amount of trouble processioning the instructions then they will need to be taken step by step through the process one more.
Checking For Understanding:
If they do something wrong leave it there to show later on when they THINK that they're done but then go back and revise it with them indivisually to see if they catch their mistakes.
Closure:
Finally they will present their PowerPoint to the class and this will also tech people skills and learning to talk in front of the class.
