Goals:
 1.Reconnect with familiar text for most. 2.Participants will identify needs. 3.Participants will discover who God is to them. 4.Participants will recall what God does for them. 5. Participants will recognize how their lives are affected by God's actions. 6.Participants will discover and declare their response to the knowledge of God's faithfullness which may take the form of the trust and confidence expressed by the psalmist.
Objectives:
 1.Participants will recite and read the text individually and with others. 2.Participants will share discovery and understanding of a:Lord as Shepherd. b.Having no need. c.Being Restored 3.Participants will create personal psalm of Confidence and trust.
Materials:
 Paper,pencils, markers, crayons
Introduction:
 1.Participants will fill in blanks of framed poem without context. See Form A. 2.Participants will make list of wants and needs, given their own context. List up to three of each on blank paper. 3.Voluntary sharing of outcomes.
Development:
 1.Introduce the psalm by having volunteers (3)recite from memory. 2.Read the Psalm three times with volunteers, in varied languages if available. 3.Open discovery and sharing about impression of the psalm. 4.Discussion of key words of shepherd, in want or need or lack, restores. 5.Share personal discovery of psalm and its message as one of hope and confidence.
Practice:
 Each participant completes Worksheet B, filling in blanks with a context of "The Lord is my shepherd". 2.Psalms Sherades: Teams of two decide on "a want" and "a need" and will attempt to get the group to guess what is intended through the game of sherades.
Accommodations:
 I will have to determine this at the time of gathering. I only know that my group will composed of adults, maybe a couple of teens,who are part of my local community. I make accommodations and adjustments as I meet my group.
Checking For Understanding:
 Participants will compose personal poem or song of trust and confidence using Worksheet C.
Closure:
 Participants may share compostiton or any reflections concerning Psalm 23.
