Topic:
 1.Creativity and Communication. 2.To give students the opportunity to use arts and crafts as a means of communication with theirs peers and family.
Content:
 Creativity with art and music.
Goals:
 1.To provide students with ways to communicate with their peers and family. 2.To provide ways for students to express themselves creatively through arts, crafts, and music. 3. To give the students an environment where they can have fun while learning.
Objectives:
 1.Students should be able to pick a farm animal from the song "Old Mcdonald," and make a farm animal sock puppet. 2.Students should be able to tell me atleast two important facts about their farm animal of choice.
Materials:
 1.Sound Clip of "Old McDonald". 2.Socks. 3.Scissors. 4.Brown,dark brown, and pink colored felt. 5.Googly eyes. 6.Glue.
Introduction:
 1.Begin by playing "Old McDonald" and having the students sing along. 2.Tell the students a few facts about horses, cows, and pigs. 3.Lay out all the materials that will be used for making the sock puppets.
Development:
 1.Demonstrate by beggining to make your own sock puppet of choice. (Or show them a pre-made one) 2.Explain to them that they will be making their own farm animal sock puppet of choice, and how they are to make it.
Practice:
 1.Have the students first discuss the colors, shapes, and other speceficities of pigs, horses, and cows. 2.Have the students make their farm animals, and then get in groups of whichever animal they choose and have them act out there part, while playing "Old McDonald." 3.Provide a section in the classroon where students can put on puppet shows.
Accommodations:
 1.For hearning impaired students you could print out the lyrics to the songs, and give them pictures to go along with it.
Checking For Understanding:
 1.Have the students tell you two important facts about their choice of animal. 2.Have the students sing along with " Old McDonal" and lift their sock puppents when their animal is called out.
Closure:
 1.Give the students the opportunity to make another sock puppet for their sibbling or friends, after the lesson. 2.Send some materials home with the students so that they can work on them with thier families.
Evaluation:
 1.Were the students able to make the sock puppets from the given supplies and instructions? 2.Were the students able to rtain the facts given to them about the farm animals and recite them back, after the art project.
