Objective:The student will be able to create a Sudoku game board using patterned Easter eggs.

Resources:

Blank Sudoku game board

Pieces of construction paper

Activities:

Have students practice their critical thinking skills by creating a Sudoku game board using patterned Easter eggs. Have them use pieces of construction paper to plan out their game board before they start drawing. They should try to use the minimum number of symbols needed to be able to solve the puzzle. When they have laid out their game board, they can replace the pieces of construction paper with drawings. After they are finished, collect the puzzles and make copies of them. Pass the puzzles out at different times during the Easter season and have students practice solving them.

Wrap Up:

Some students might not be comfortable drawing detailed pictures. Consider allowing them to use solid colored eggs. These puzzles may be difficult for some students, and they may need to work with a partner to complete them.
