Internet access for each group of students

Activities:

Divide the students into groups of three. Give each group some snow and have them try to make a snowman (depending on the type of snow they may or may not be able to do this.) Talk about why they think they could or could not make one. Discuss the different types of snow and then have each group work together to complete the worksheet using information from the Internet.

Sample worksheet:

Wrap Up:

This lesson may be more difficult for students who live in southern climates and have not experienced snow. They may need to watch videos that show the different types of snow so they have a better understanding of its characteristics.
