Objective: The student will be able to name the different ways that Easter eggs are dyed around the world.

Resources:

Internet access for each student

Activities:

Discuss with the students how Easter eggs are dyed in America. You could even show them various kits that are available. Ask them how they think Easter eggs are dyed in other countries. Have them break into small groups and spend some time researching the Internet for that information. Encourage them to look for traditional ways that the eggs are dyed even if many people in that country have started using the dyeing kits. Have them come back together and report on what they found.

Wrap Up:

You could extend this activity by having students use these methods to dye eggs. They could give a short demonstration in class showing how the country of their choice makes Easter eggs.
