Lesson Plan Title : My De-Stress Plan

Age Range: Grade 9 through Grade 12 (High School)

Overview and Purpose: Students lead busy lives and as they reach young adulthood, they get busier. In this lesson, students take time to figure out what helps them relax.

Objective: The student will be able to name three things that help him relax.

Resources:

Chart paper

Tape

Markers

Activities:

Ask your students to write down all the responsibilities they have during one week. If they want, have them write two or three of those things on one of the pieces of chart paper hanging in the front of the room. Discuss what the students have written down.

Talk about whether the things listed cause them stress when they do them or when they do not do them. Have the students discuss what those feelings of stress feel like.

Have the students write down all the ways they can take a break from these things and relax during the week. Have them share their ideas by writing them on another piece of chart paper. Discuss the ideas with the students.

Wrap Up:

For homework, have students choose one or two new ideas that they liked and write one or two paragraphs about when they would use them.
