Resources:

Teacher created worksheet

Activities:

Have your students choose one of the main scenes in their book and create a 3D model of it. Challenge the students to include as many details as possible, including the time of day and the season of the year. Have them present the scene to the class and explain why they felt it was important to the story.

Sample guide for students:

1. Where does the scene take place?

2. What year?

3. What details are in the book about the location?

4. What materials do you need to create your scene?

Closure:

If your class is reading the same book, you could create a classroom size model of one of the scenes. For instance, if you were reading, Frankenstein, your students could turn the classroom into the mad scientist's laboratory. More advanced students could be challenged to create their 3D scene on the computer.
