Interview questions to be developed by the students
Students will spend some time the first session coming up with the interview questions. Encourage them to dig deeper then basic question of age and family.
After they have developed their questions, divide the students up into pairs and have the students ask their partners the questions and record them.
Students will write their essay in class using the 5 steps of the writing process. They are to write it as if they are that person. If time allows they can present the essay to the class.
Assessment: Have students hand in their interview questions; also grade the 5 steps of the writing process.
Extension: The teacher could ask the students to try this with a parent or a grandparent.
