Lesson Plan Title : Living at the North Pole

Age Range: Grade 9 through grade 12 (High School)

Overview and Purpose: Students will need to figure out what they would need to survive at the North Pole for a year. Where would they live, what would they eat, and how they would stay warm.

Objective: The student will be able to write a descriptive paper telling how they would survive at the North Pole for a year.

This activity can be written as a real-world plan or an imaginary one. Either way, have the students describe how they would survive for a year at the North Pole. The students may want to do research or they can make up an entire world. Have students share their plans when everyone is finished.

Wrap Up:

This is a good activity to do in those last days before holiday vacation. Students are still working on their writing skills, but they are using their imaginations and writing about a fun topic.
