Goals:
 Students will determine how eating properly affects their looks, health, and daily lives in general. They will be able to make sensible food choices that will enhance their well being overall.
Objectives:
 TLW determine how healthy food affects all aspects of your daily life, differences between appetite and hunger, and make choices for healthy meals and snacks.
Materials:
 power point presentation, handouts, worksheets, elmo for demonstrations, food items
Introduction:
 Students will make a list of their ten favorite and least favorite foods, provide explanations why, then determine if the foods are healthy or not using the food labels.
Development:
 Students will be provided with a list of words and asked to define them based on their own knowledge. Then they will be provided a list of definitions and asked to find the correct word w/o assistance.
Practice:
 Students will watch a power point presentation and have 10 minutes to summerize the main points. Questions and Answers regarding the information will follow a general discussion.

Checking For Understanding:
 Venn diagram healthy foods vs nonhealthy foods, Teacher made Quiz, Food Pyramid fill in blank
Closure:
 Review the important points on presentation, why healthy foods are better choice,and provide examples of foods that make a positive influence on daily lives.
Evaluation:
 Students will complete questions regarding food choices, their effects and why healthy is a better choice.
