Content:
 Introduction to Safety, Accidents: Causes and Results, Housekeeping, Safety policies and OSHA regulations, Reporting Injuries, Accidents, and Incidents, Evacuation Procedures.
Goals:
 Students to be aware of safety hazards on job sites. Students to know what can cause accidents. Students to be able to identify safety signs and their meaning. Students to explain poor work habits that could cause a hazzard. Students to be aware of Alcohol and Drug Abuse being a safety hazzard. Students will know that not being trained properly using power tools can result in a serious accident. Students will be able to recognize an unsafe working condition. Students will be able to learn housekeeping on job site. Students will be able to recognize OSHA regulations. Students will be able to know how to report accidents, injuries and incidents on job site. Students will learn the importance of evacuation procedures.
Objectives:
 Explain safety hazards on job sites. Describe meaning of job site safety. Explain the appropriate safety precautions to take around job site hazards. Explain OSHA and its importance.
Materials:
 Markers/chalk, Pencils and scratch paper, Whiteboard/chalkboard, Variety of communication signs, OSHA regulations,
Introduction:
 Safety is part of every job. You will learn to ensure your safety and that of the people you work with by following rules. For instance to follow safe work practices and procedures. Before taking advantage of training and new job, you have to understand the importance of safety.
Development:
 Discuss the importance of working safely on the job-site. Explain the main causes of accidents on job site. Explain the difference in the colors of safety signs. Show dfferent signs to the class. Explain how poor work habits can cause serious injuries. Demonstrate how a dull and a sharp cutting tool can operate differently when cutting. Discuss problems caused by stress. Emphasize the dangers assocated with operating machiney while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Discuss the importance of understanding the side effects of medications. Emphasize that students should never operate a power tool that they have not been properly trained to operate. Discuss the differences between intentional and unsafe acts. Reveiw examples of unsafe acts, and ask students to provide examples of accidents they have witnessed as a result of unsafe acts. Ensure that students understand when it is appropriate to take risks on the work site. Provide examples of rationalized risks, and ask the class whether they would consider taking the risk. Review the types of job-site conditions that are unsafe. Ensure that students understand the concept of chain of command with in a company. Explain the mission of the Occupational Safety ad Health Administration (OSHA). Review the importance of an evauation procedure.
Practice:
 Have the students to write a list of causes of accidents which could occur on job sites. Review and discuss ways of preventing some of the examples in class and ask the class their opinions.
