If you
are new to downloading programs over the Internet, you probably have never
heard of file compression. In order to speed up the process of downloading
programs, many software publishers compress their programs for transfer
over the Internet. All of the downloads posted in the TeAch-nology.com
Download Center are in one of three formats:
- .exe (PC);
- .hqx (Mac);
- .zip (Compressed File).
.hqx and .exe files will be ready for installation immediately after
they are downloaded, but .zip files must be decompressed with a decompression
utility. Here are the most popular, free decompression utilities available.
