si tenggangs homecoming is a poem about a man who has gone traveling and comes back as a better person after gaining experiences from the journey. The main purpose of this lesson is to introduce students of the upper secondary to one of the possible themes of the poem.

(1) create a website based on their own creativity
(2)do online research or refer to related books to get more information about various styles used in writing poems.
(3)compile all the information and upload it in the website they have created earlier.
(4) they have to interview qualified people around them (5) modifications to their first draft after this interview.

After studying in class about the essence of this poem, students are asked to (1) create a website based on their own creativity to explain the meaning of each stanza deeper. This is to enhance students understanding of the content of the poem. Later they have to(2)further their research on this poem by having a close look at the portrayal of the theme. This research requires them to think critically by focusing on the stylistic analysis. They can do online research or refer to related books to get more information about various styles used in writing poems. (3)They have to compile this information and upload it in the website they have created earlier. Having completed the first draft, (4) they have to interview qualified people around them such as the author itself (if possible), other famous poets such as Salleh Ben Joned, K.S Maniam etc (if possible) or other English teachers in the school / different schools about the style used in this poem and compare the findings with their draft. They are allowed to do modifications to their first draft after this interview.

Students works will be assessed according to teacher-determined rubrics. The rubrics contain 1.) Criteria to successfully accomplish the activities and 2.) in progress evaluations for individual students. Students are expected to participate as valuable group members, to have their work ready on time, and to work within their groups on their publications cooperatively. All products will be available for review by other groups on large screen projection systems, if available. Otherwise, students can view the presentations on the computer monitors. The teacher will provide an opportunity for an informal critique by the other students. Each small group of students will be evaluated on whether they can follow instructions provided to produce a power point presentation and a webpage.

After doing this webquest students will be able to study and acquire information on portrayal of theme through stylistic analysis in a poem. They will also able to Compare their thoughts and reflection on the poem with capable others and analyze the style used in writing the poem. Lastly they will be able to synthesize information and data gathered about the stylistic analysis and the theme of the poem.
