Holidays Across The Globe

 

Introduction:  
  Holidays!!! What do you think about when you hear the word Holidays?
Holidays is a time of joy and celebration. There are more adjectives you can use to describe holidays but the real question is
Do you know how other countries celebrate the holidays?
Can name 5 holidays in other countries?

For this Webquest you will be on a mission to find 5 different holidays in countries outside the United States. You will gather information and create a PowerPoint or Keynote slideshow about your findings. You are going to share this information with your peers and family.
Task:  
  Your job will be to:

1. Choose 5 different countries and holidays you will like to visit.

2. Answer questions about the holiday youre studying.

3. Create a slideshow presentation using either PowerPoint or Keynote detailing all the information you have found about each holiday.

4. Create a Glogster poster that will compare 1 of the holidays you've researched to a holiday we celebrate in the United States.

5. Share and present your information to the class.
Process:  
  1) You will review the resources page and choose 5 holidays that you are interested in researching.

2) Read over the holiday questions, so you will know what information you need to find. Click here to print the holiday questions.

3) Visit the websites listed under your holiday to learn about it. Write down answers to some of the holiday questions

4)Create a PowerPoint or Keynote slideshow to teach others about your holiday. The PowerPoint or Keynote must include answers to the holiday questions, written in complete sentences. It should also contain pictures that represent those holidays.

5) Create a glog that will compare a holiday in another country to one we celebrate in the United States.

6) Present your holiday slideshow and glog to the class.
