One day a boy decided to join a baseball team. His dad said that he would coach his son's team. The boy's dad got a little carried away with winning. This made the boy upset when he did not get a hit, so he tried to sit out as much as he could. But everybody had to bat in every game. During the last inning in the final game in the end year tournament, the boy had to take his turn batting. The bases were loaded and there were two outs. He swung at the first pitch. He missed it. It was a strike. The second pitch ended with the same result: another strike. But on the third pitch he hit it. It was a home run; his first one ever! When he got in his team's dugout everybody on his team was cheering including the best player that always got home runs was cheering. And then he knew his dad was very proud of him because he picked him up and ran around the bases with the boy on his shoulders.
