Easter Vocabulary Words and Definitions

basket
a container made of twigs, rushes, thin strips of wood, or other flexible material woven together.
bonnet
a hat, usually tying under the chin and often framing the face, formerly much worn by women but now worn mostly by children
bunny a young rabbit.
candy
any of a variety of confections made with sugar, syrup, etc., often combined with chocolate, fruit, nuts, etc.
chick
a young chicken or other bird.
chocolate
a preparation of the seeds of cacao, roasted, husked, and ground, often sweetened and flavored, as with vanilla.
decorate
to furnish or adorn with something ornamental or becoming; embellish.
egg
the roundish reproductive body produced by the female of certain animals, as birds and most reptiles, consisting of an ovum and its envelope of albumen, jelly, membranes, egg case, or shell, according to species.
daffodil
usually yellow flowers with a trumpet-shaped central area.
dye
a coloring material.
hiding
to conceal from sight; prevent from being seen or discovered.
jellybean
a small, bean-shaped, usually brightly colored candy with a hard sugar coating and a firm gelatinous filling.
lily
any scaly-bulbed plant of the genus Lilium, having showy, funnel-shaped or bell-shaped flowers.
parade
a large public procession, usually including a marching band and often of a festive nature, held in honor of an anniversary, person, event, etc.
symbol
something used for or regarded as representing something else; a material object representing something, often something immaterial; emblem, token, or sign.
