State Brochure

 

Introduction:  
  There are 50 states in the USA. Each state has unique places to visit and history to learn about.
Task:  
  You are businessmen and businesswomen! You advertising for one of the 50 states. Create a brochure that teaches people about your state and makes them want to visit.

This web quest will help you learn about a different state. In your brochure, you can include information about anything you are interested in: your state's sports teams, weather, famous people, etc. Keep in mind that you are advertising for this state, so you will want to make it sound like a great place to visit!
Process:  
  1. Choose a state. Have your state checked by the teacher so that each student has a different state. Begin to research this state and make sure that it is one that interests you. The cover of your brochure should display the name of the state, the state flag, and a map of the United States with your state highlighted.
2. Research basic facts about your state. The second panel should include the capital, the date that it became a state, the state nickname, and a fun fact about the state.
3. On the internet, research interesting places to visit in this state. You may find out what the weather is like and what kinds of activities you can do. You can include sports teams from this state or famous people who were born there.
4. Find out about the history of the state.
5. Present your information on a brochure, where the info from numbers 2,3, and 4 each have their own panel.
