Personal budgeting and finance involves the terms we have been studying in class- net and gross income, savings, debt, credit, and mortgage.

Task: |

|
Today, you will be put with a partner (ie spouse) or will work alone. Then you will discover the occupation that best fits your personal strengths and interests. From here you will create a monthly budget. Be careful not to overspend and go into debt!

Process: |
|
|
Step 1: using the 1st resource listed, take the skills quiz and find your job's income per month.
Step 2: Using the realty website, find a home that best suits your family and your budget.
Step 3: Using the bankrate site, find your monthly mortgage payment.
Step 4: Using autotrader, find the car or cars that best fits your family's lifestyle and budget.
Step 5: Using the site provided (Edmonds), determine your monthly car payment.
Step 6: Using the handout provided, locate your utility and insurance costs dependent on your house size, number in your family, and type of automobile you drive.
Step 7: Put it all together! Using the personal budget site, lists all of the bills provided. If you and your family, decide not to use a service (like housecleaning), put $0.
Step 8- 2nd period only. Determine what percentage of your income goes to your car payment and mortgage.
