Light
My Stadium! |
|
Background:
|
After graduating from college, you and your partner
land your first jobs as structural engineers for a stadium-building
project. You have been waiting for ten months for this break to come! Since both of you have very little experience,
your boss decides to give the two of you control over the lighting
outside the stadium. Using
the layout of the parking lot, you and your partner must decide
how to completely light the entire parking lot for the lowest possible
cost. |
|
Procedures:
|
Using
the material cost sheet, you and your partner must do the following:
- Devise a plan to use the light the entire complex. You must provide your boss (teacher) with a
drawing (to scale) that displays the exactly location
of the lights, reflectors, and/or refractors.
- You must also show in your drawing the area the lights will
provide lighting for.
- Lights, reflectors, and refractors cost money, you must also
provide your boss (teacher) with a cost analysis of what each
part and the entire project will cost.
- The team that produces a valid project at the least expense
for class will get the bid and be given a 100% for the project.
In the case of a tie, the group whose proposal is the most efficient
will win.
