Using Irregular Verbs
The many forms of a verb are based on its three principal parts:the present, the past, and the past participle.
Example: help(present) helped(past) have helped(past participle)
Directions: Underline the correct form of the verb from those given in parentheses.
1. Has Ellen ever (went,gone) to the planetarium? 2. Juan and the twins have (gave,given) their old baseball bats away. 3. The audience (gave,given) the band a standing ovation. 4. The police (knew, known) of no motive for the crime. 5. The cat was (gave,given) to me by Melissa. 6. My sister has (went,gone) to France to study. 7. The flowers haven't (grew,grown) well in this heat. 8. How long have you (knew,known) Juanita? 9. Kate and Kyle (grew,grown) herbs and sold them. 10. Lisa (knew,known) more about computers than I did.
