Lesson Plan Title : Another Visit for Gulliver

Age Range: Grade 9 through Grade 12 (High School Level)

Overview and Purpose : "Out with the old, in with the new"� This will be a chance for a diverse group of students to work collectively toward a common goal, as they create a new tribe for Gulliver to get to know!

Objective:The student will be able to compare the places that Gulliver visited and create a new people for him to visit.

Resources:

Poster board for each pair of students

Markers/crayons/colored pencils

Teacher created worksheet

Activities:

Have the students work together in pairs to compare the Lilliputians, Brobdingnagians, Laputans, and the Houyhnhnms. (See the sample worksheet below.) Review the worksheet and then have each group create a new group of people for Gulliver to visit. They can make a poster about their people that includes all the categories on the worksheet. Ask each group to share their poster.
