Age Range: Grade 3 through grade 5 (Elementary)

Resources:

Construction paper

Egg shapes for students to trace

Crayons/markers/colored pencils

Various ribbon and

yarn

Glue

Sequins and glitter

Activities:

Have students trace and cut out shapes from the construction paper. Have them then decide on and create a pattern on their Easter egg. They can use ribbon, yarn, sequins, and glitter. Challenge them to make the pattern hard to detect. When all the Easter eggs are finished, display them around the room and ask the students to find the different patterns.

Wrap Up:

This activity can also be done using real hard-boiled eggs. The students can create their pattern by drawing on the eggs with crayons before they dye them.
