The 1950's was a great decade. Americans were listening to Rock and Roll, watching
the newly invented television and enjoying drive-in theaters.
Some say that computers are the way of the future and that
in education; computers and programs are resources that allow
teachers to reinforce their instructional content. In order
for teachers to use computers effectively to reinforce instruction,
teachers need to become effective at technology integration.

Task: |

Your task is to set up a drive-in theater. Select the movies you will show,
the music you will play before it starts, products you will
have at your concession stand and the cars that will be parked
in front of the screen.
Your administrator has asked you and your group of two other
teachers, to present a history of technology use in education
to your school faculty as a ay of introducing a five year
plan for implementing new technologies.

1. Select three movies you will be showing at your theater and create a publicity poster. On a separate paper list the year of the movie, genre and a brief description of the film.
2. Select six tunes you will be playing before the movie starts. Include the performer and the title of the song.
3. Find three products you will be selling at your concession
stand. Create a poster listing the products and their prices.
4. Describe large scale usage of new technologies in the US
W.W.II training of soldiers
5. Identify Skinner and Blooms theories in the 1950's that led
to two major still popular designs.
6. Examine ideas from the 1980's and 1990's that can be put
under the umbrella of the label Computer-based learning (CBL)
