Stalin's Five Year Plans

 

Introduction:  
  At the end of the 1920's, Stalin launched radical economic policies that literally changed the face of Russia, creating a new industrial and agricultural landscape.

The NEP was cast aside and Stalin introduced the Five-Year Plans for industry and agriculture. These Plans had effects on the Agricultural, Industrial and Cultural level. You will be analyzing the reasons and outcomes of these Plans.
Task:  
  How Successful were Stalin's Five Year Plans?
Process:  
  The period is the 1930's.

Your first task will be to create a Children's book where you are providing the story of the Five Year Plan told from the Soviet Perspective.

Your second task will be an informative pamphlet where you will act as a lobbyist and you will provide information to members of the U.S. Senate using first hand evidence regarding the situation through which the U.S.S.R. is going through regarding industrialization and the expense of so many citizens so you can get as many supporters to condemn the opening up of diplomatic relations with the USSR.
