Site of the week- Mail Mutt- http://www.mailmutt.com/ MailMutt.com is a commercial Email search engine, the first of its kind, that lets you search for email offers when and where you want them. If you had an e-mail account for any length of time, you're probably already getting a few e-mail offers a day that you could care less about. Plus you can't be quite sure if any of the offers are just scams. With MaiMutt you can find only reptuable offers, from reputable companies anytime you want. Simply enter a keyword and click on "Search". Additionally, you could view commercial emails from specific categories (i.e. Computers and Technology) to return non-specific commercial emails relevant to that category. That's all there is to it. For example, if you noticed an offer for a great deal on a new computer but can't remember where you saw it, just enter a keyword search on "computer" and click search. To additionally target the results, use the appropriate drop-down menus to choose the specific category that you want to search as well as the email type (i.e. Offers). From the results page, simply click on the item that you are interested and the detailed message will be displayed. ============================================================= 2. As Our Experts- ************************************************************* A question from Anonymous: "Who invented Nuclear Power? When?" ************************************************************* TeAch-nology.com's Staff Response: "I am not sure that any one person invented nuclear power. Enrico Fermi is credited for his work in his most well-known contribution, the demonstration of the first controlled atomic fission reaction. He is also credited for his work in radioactivity and major contributions to the Manhattan Project during World War II. More on Fermi could be found at: http://encarta.msn.com/index/conciseindex/68/068B7000.htm?z=1&pg=2&br=1 However, two great webs site that can help describe the legacy of the atomic age are: 1. http://tis.eh.doe.gov/ohre/roadmap/achre/intro_1.html 2. http://legacystory.apps.em.doe.gov/thestory/index.asp We hope this helps." ************************************************************* A question from Anonymous: "I am in the San Diego area. You should start with a search and type in "Abraham Lincoln." A good search center is: http://www.teach-nology.com/mega_search/ This will bring you to many links on Abraham Lincoln where you can read about his beliefs and accomplishments as a result of his plan. Based on the information, you can make a sound argument on what's was better. You may want to explore what might have happened if Lincoln's plans did not materialize as stated in history. Imagine having to pay salaries and benefits to teachers for the additional six weeks? Also included in the cost of keeping schools open longer is the maintenance costs. These costs have an impact on the tax payers. Depending on the location of the school district, costs can vary. If you are interested in any particular school district, you can contact the district directly or see if they have information about the cost per student per day for an education. Hope this helps, good luck!" ============================================================= 10. Teach Students About The Stock Market!!! By: Harry Cantor, Retired Teacher: Dayton, OH "Why cut forever, when you can just post the background" "I made bulletin boards for years. By my 11th year, I figured out that I would need exactly 15 sheets of construction paper for my bulletin board and that it would take me close to an hour to place all the pieces. Then I figured out you can just go to one of those "Just A Dollar Store" and buy a paper, or non-shiny table cloth and pop it up. You can even get seasonal backgrounds. It is so much easier, I think I updated the boards more often because it wasn't as big of a pain to change the backgrounds." ------------------------------------------------------------- Click Below, To Visit Our "Ideas That Worked!"
