7. Ask The Experts-
Ask The Educational Expert:
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A question from anonymous:
"Where can I find a simple lesson plan form to write out and
organize my lessons on?"
TeAch-nology.com's Response:
"You can find a leeson plan generator on our site in our
"Web Tools" section specifically, in 'Classroom Materials
Generators.' Or you can go directly to the page that the
lesson plan generator is displayed:
http://www.teach-nology.com/web_tools/lesson_plan/
The lesson plan form that we offer also comes with a
tutorial. The form that TeAch-nology.com advocates covers
all the important components of what a lesson plan should
include. We hope that this will meet your needs. It seems
to be very popular with most teachers. "

Ask The Technology Expert:
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A question from anonymous:
"How does networking work? and how to learn networking? What
is networking"
TeAch-nology.com's Response:
Networking computers is a complex process with a variety of
options, each dictating use of specific hardware, cabling and
software. A network is simply a group of two or more Personal
Computers linked together.
Besides physically connecting computer and communication devices,
a network system serves the important function of allowing a
variety of equipment types to transfer data and work
collaboratively.
Many types of networks exist, but the most common types of
networks are Local-Area-Networks (LANs), and Wide-Area-Networks
(WANs). In a LAN, computers are connected together within a
"local" area (for example, an office or home). In a WAN,
computers are farther apart and are connected via
telephone/communication lines, radio waves, or other means of
connection.
If you would like to learn how to create a small scale network
between two local computers, there is a great how-to at:
http://www.ehow.com/eHow/eHow/0,1053,3659,FF.html
If you would like to learn more about networking in general, we
would recommend a great little book by the name:
Small Business Networking For Dummies
by Glenn Weadock, Eric Schmidt, Emily Sherrill Weadock (Illustrator)
IDG Books Worldwide; ISBN: 0764502891=0D
If you want to actually gain hands-on training, there are
increasing trends at most community colleges and local adult
education programs that offer Novell, Mac, and Microsoft
certification programs. Check your contact or your local
adult education center for details."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A question from anonymous:
"How do you create a web based application using MS
PowerPoint; i.e., build a Jeopardy Game?"
TeAch-nology.com's Response:
"PowerPoint does have the capabilities to generate HTML (make
web pages), but the degree of the interactivity you described
is not possible to make directly via PowerPoint. PowerPoint
will generate static web pages that are basically pictures.
In order to do this, all that you have to do is create a
presentation and then, under the file menu, click on "Save as
HTML." A wizard will walk you through all of the necessary
steps. Once you have saved your presentation in HTML, just load
all of the files to the same directory of any web server and you
have an on-line presentation." Good luck!!!

11. "Newest Idea That Worked!"
By: Charlie Rose, 5th grade teacher: Boise, Idaho
Optical Illusions Save The Day!
"Every year I buy deck of cards called "Optical Illusions"
from my neighborhood teacher supply store. I find this very
handy to teach children about perspective. No matter what
subject you teach, we are all trying to help kids look at
things differently. Let's say I'm teaching a Social Studies
lesson about a battle or conflict of some kind. At the end
of the lesson I'll pass around my optical Illusion cards.
I'll then ask the students what they saw. Because they are
optical illusions, it is rare that everyone will see the
same thing. Again great for teaching perspective. It saved
me during an observation once, but I guess that's another
war story."
