Goals:
 All students are to learn the techniques of bumping, setting, spiking and digging. Students are also to learn the rules of the game and the format how the game is played
Objectives:
 Students will play volleyball games demonstrating the skills, rules, and strategy of the game
Materials:
 volleyballs, court, net, gym
Introduction:
 Students will learn the history of volleyball through lectures and powerpoint presentation. Students will learn the rules of volleyball through demonstration and explanation. Students will learn techniques by modeling and actual play
Development:
 Instructor will demonstrate/model proper serve techniques, bumping techniques, digs, spikes and setting techniques.
Practice:
 Students will have the opportunity to practice all skills demonstrated. Students will also be given goals to improve skills in volleyball techniques
Accommodations:
 Students will be split into groups after demonstration of skills to practice serving, bumping, setting and spiking skills
Checking For Understanding:
 Students will be given a written exam to demonstrate knowledge of the game. Students will be given a skills test to demonstrate skill techniques of the game.
Closure:
 At the end of the unit students will participate in a volleyball game and demonstrate learned skills and techniques.
Evaluation:
 Students will be tested on performance and techniques of various volleyball skills.
