Goals:
 
Objectives:
 Students will explore where air is found. Students will define the Atmosphere and identify the layers of the Earth's Atmosphere. Students will identify air temperature, air pressure, and wind as the three main chahracteristics of weather.
Materials:
 McGraw-Hill Science text pp. D6-D11
Introduction:
 Ask students to solve the following riddle: Name something that is real but that you cannot see. Here is a hint: You use it everyday to breathe. (Air)
Development:
 As a whole group read through the text pages D6-D11. Discuss new vocabulary and weather concepts along the way.
Practice:
 While we are reading through the text I will guide my students while they complete worksheet pg.173.
Accommodations:
 I will modify the number of probelms to be completed for pg. 179. Students will also be allowed to use their textbooks.
Checking For Understanding:
 During the whole group reading and worksheet pg. 173 completion I will provide feedback and redirection as needed.
Closure:
 I will have the students write the following prompt in their Weather Journals: How can changes in the weather affect your day?
Evaluation:
 Students will be evaluated through classroom interaction and the completion of the worksheet activities.
