Goals:
 The student will recognize and name the circle. The student will recognize and name the square. The student will recognize and name the triangle.
Objectives:
 Can the student recognize and name the following shapes: Circle, square, and triangle?
Materials:
 Songs about shapes, books about shapes, shape puzzles, and shapes cut out to form a picture.
Introduction:
 Introduction read "Shapes" to the classroom as a whole group.
Development:
 The students will work in small groups based on their prior knowledge of the shapes to work on identifying the shapes listed above. In a whole group setting the instructor will name each shape and show a picture of the shape, and proceed to have the student name the shape aloud also.
Practice:
 Students will work in small groups based on their learning style (kinesthetic, visual, or auditory learner). The Kinesthetic learners will form the shapes using their bodies within their small group. The visual learners will use flash cards to name the shape they see with a partner within their small group. The auditory learners will review the cards with pictures of the shapes and practice repeating the names of the shapes within their small group.shapes

 Place children in small groups based on their learning style and capabilities.

 Come back together and sing a shapes song while having the kinesthetic learners form the shapes as the others look on at the shapes being formed and flash cards used in class.
