Content: | Students will decide whether spoken words have similar feature in the beginning, middle or ending of words. |
Goals: | Students should be able to march sounds in words provided to them in flash cards. |
Objectives: | Choose rhyming word with pictures; match two rhyming pictures, work with partner to generate and recognize rhming pictures. |
Materials: | flash cards, paper, pen, computers, worksheets |
Introduction: | Students will be learning matching sounds in words and as they are pronounced will decide if sound is matching either the beginning of the word, middle of ending of word. |
Development: | Examples will be provided and modeled. |
Practice: | Read "read-alouds, use basic reading strategies throughout curriculum, model and demonstrate ideas. Encourage students to participate, be consistent with examples, illustrations, materials related to varied cultures. |
Accommodations: | Have reading buddy to help when reading aloud; use key vocabulary, use student grouping approach for ESL students (write in their native language first) until mastered comprehension; use internet sites for easier transition. |
Checking For Understanding: | Visual and informal observations; Use worksheet for assessments |
Closure: | Students will have mastered the matching sounds in words knowing and being able to know the matching sounds regardless of where it is (matching sounds). |
