 This lesson plan is a writers workshop completed as an entire class. To review knowledge that has been uptained through the course of the school year. When finish the book will be laminated so that the children can, one by one, take it home to read to their parents.
Goals:
 To complete a book that each child in the classroom has contributed to and made their own.
Objectives:
 Revise sentences of story. Edit sentences of story. Write final draft of their sentence. Illustrate their sentence.
Materials:
 Teacher�s materials- Sentence Strips created by students Revising chart paper Editing chart paper Final draft paper Red and blue marker Students Materials- Pencil
Introduction:
 o Today we are going to be completing our story about Santa Clause! o We are going to be following the steps of a good writer, so that we may be able to publish our work.
Development:
 o Boys and girls let�s review what a good writer does. o Now lets review the proper way to revise and edit. Echo read the instructions with me! o Now that we have reviewed the proper way to complete our work what should be do first? o (They say) Reread our work� o Correct, so lets reread our work so that we can continue the steps of a good writer. o Boys and girls, now that we have reread what we wrote what should we do next? o (They say) Revise our work.
Practice:
 o Correct. So lets go through each sentence in our story and see if we can add anything to any of our sentences. o Great, now that we have revised our work, what should we do next? o (They say) Edit our work. o Great, lets go through our sentences and look for any misspelled words. o Awesome boys and girls! o Ok boys and girls lets review what we have done so far. We have reread our work, revised our work and edited our work. So what should we do next? o (They say) Write the final draft, or publish our work. o Correct!

 o Students will, with their sentence strips, rewrite their sentences, using any edits and revisions that were made with the entire classes help.
