 Books: The Story of Hanukkah by Bobbi Katz, The Jewish Child�s First Book of Why, by Alfred Kolatch, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, and Chanukah Primer by Rabbi Shraga Simmons, Ayer, Hoy y Siempre by Mordejai Katz. Paper Pencil Computer Chart Paper Markers Menorah (candle holder)
Introduction:
 Take a poll on who is what religion in our class. Ask students what they know about: Jewish religion Hanukkah
Development:
 Read: The Story of Hanukkah Ask: What did they found similar and different from their own religion, celebrations and/or traditions. Record results on a Venn-gram. Read (beginning/portions): Number the Stars Record reactions from students on another chart
Practice:
 Students will research OTHER information about the Jewish holiday, Hanukkah on the computer individually or with a partner. Group: Create a chart on Number the Stars based on feelings.
Accommodations:
 ESL: Intermediate A Spanish Jewish book will be available. Ortographia (picture word wall) Translation if needed

 This topic is so in depth. There is so much to cover, I feel I needed more time to cover this topic completely. I did extend into two days.
