I am also a PE teacher who has been in the elementary, middle school, and now the high school. I am always looking for new ideas and my ideas are sometimes outside the box, but it keeps kids interested. It would be helpful to know what type of equipment you currently have, but here are some ideas...
Ultimate Frisbee
Snow shoeing along with orienteering
archery
hackey sak
rollerblading/rollarblade hockey
Goal Ball (blind sport, but great to teach kids for awareness)
Theif (Like capture the flag)
Badmitten
Big Ball Volleyball or Omnikan ball if you have one
Some of the ideas I would like to try in the future would be an extreame sports class that has skateboarding, rappelling, snowboarding, and hackey sack.
Ice skating
oreinteering
wheel chair basketball
golf
I haven't found great sites for the high school level, but PECENTRAL.com is a good site, but still not the greatest for high school.
Weight training
Pilates
Yoga
Weight Training or using dyno bands
I would be interested to hear some of the programs other people have and how they have gotten them started and how they are run!
