Default Help with Chemistry

I'm embarrassed that it has come to this, but I am at a loss. For the past 5 months, I've been asking my roommates to clean up after themselves in the kitchen. Apparently, wiping up grease that splattered onto the stove top, completely covering it or throwing away their food scraps before a week goes by has proven too difficult for them. I've tried the mature route (talking to them) and have been met with resistence. I sometimes think I'm being unreasonable, maybe setting the bar too high, but I just placed my hand on the stove and I brought it back up to see it covered in orange sauce leftover from someone's cooking exploits last night, so, I don't think that's the problem.
Anyway, I was wondering how to create the most god awful smell possible using common household products. I've come across some sites with stink bomb recipes, but they all seem to involve some harmful/not easily obtainable chemical. I have no interest in hurting anyone, just in creating a reason for my housemates to clean up after themselves (making them think whatever mess they left has fermented). Also, I don't really want anything messy or that takes a long time to create (eg, waiting for milk or an egg to rot).
Any help would be appreciated, including another diplomatic approach that I may be missing.

Default Stink Bomb

The common jokster "stink bomb", is your best bet. It is available from a variety of sources, comes in glass ampules, is noxious (stinks to high heaven), but not dangerous or permanent. It smells like rotten eggs. Try that.
