Teacher needs help spreading positive message
Bracelets with a message By KNDU NBCNews MSNBC USA - RICHLAND, WA--Those little rubber bracelets with a message are all the rage these days. You've got the Lance Armstrongs, which started the craze, ones for breast cancer, and those that support the troops, among others. But a locally-sponsored bracelet is making quite a splash here and across the globe. In Carmichael Middle School teacher Angel Ojeda's classroom, she sees it everyday...students treating each other poorly and without respect. She has also experienced the callousness of kids while growing up and seen it happen to her own children. She had an idea ten years ago to print t-shirts with a positive message to remind people to be kind to others. Life got busy and the idea was put on the shelf. After a scare with brain surgery last May that left Angel wondering if she had done enough with her life, she and her husband Luis decided to put their old idea into action. They came up with a creative way to combine the phrase "Do Unto Others", mailed a personal check off to a company they found on the internet, and a short time later, then thousand red bracelets showed up at their West Richland home. The Ojedas are donating the money from the sales of the one dollar bracelets to a national organization that coincidentally was founded by a former Pasco School Board member. "We are going to be supporting Bully Police USA. It was founded by a local woman, Brenda High. Her son unfortunately committed suicide a few years ago because he was bullied at school," said Angel Ojeda. So far 5000 bracelets have sold, with orders coming from their website from as far away as Australia. In fact, 40 percent of hits to their website are coming from England. The bracelets are popular with kids in our local area as well who say they're a good reminder of how to act. "It's just a constant reminder to always be kind to everybody no matter what they do to you," said AJ Ojeda who wears his bracelet all the time. If you'd like to support the cause, the bracelets can be purchased at local Albertson's stores, the Cathedral of Joy Church in Richland, and through the Do Unto Others bracelet website, www.duntothers.com |

I think you should talk about the incidents happening with her in detail.
If something looks serious then explain her about the racism for what you are suspecting, and tell her to avoid getting in such things. But even after this the condition doesn't comes under control you should contact you should contact an Anti-Bullying Organisation or such organisation which helps in the racism issue. They will deifinitely helpful for you. |
