Learn about the rich resources available for the traveling exhibit:

The Biotechnology Institute, with funding from the Pfizer Foundation, is conducting two one-day Teacher-Leader
Workshops in Detroit, MI to accompany the traveling museum exhibit, Genome: The Secret of How Life Works fund-ed
by Pfizer, Inc. (see genome.pfizer.com). We are seeking teachers and museum science educators within a 100-mile
radius of Detroit, MI to attend this workshop on the Genome Exhibit, now at the New Detroit Science Center. The one-day
workshops will provide you with hands-on lab experience, the Genome edition of Your World and accompany-ing

visit the exhibit, and certificate of participation. Participants will attend either October 9 or 10. Lunch and a light
snack will be provided each day. Lodging and travel are not included.
Each teacher (grades 4 to 12) or museum science educator selected to attend one of the one-day workshops will
be requested to do an outreach workshop with a minimum duration of one half-day by June 2005. The approximate
time commitment for this workshop is 2 days to prepare and implement the workshop and to complete the evalu-ation
mechanisms. Teacher-Leaders who conduct an outreach workshop will receive a stipend and materials’
