I have just been given the responsibility of teaching photography to 7th graders. I know nothing about photography. I am desperate for resources and "how to's". I have checked out books, searched on-line and still can't figure out where/how to start. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I need some creative lessons for my 7th grade math students. Where can I find practical activities on the web?
Thanks,

you should start with the basics how to develop. how to print. give them a free choice roll for the first one because it will probably get messed up anyway.
let the next rolls be on a certain technique shadow, light, angles, depth of field. class time could be used for taking pics but more likely use it for processing help them and get them darkroom buddies they are still young at this age and it is hard for them to remember all the steps
critique the work with them towards the end not at the beginning...
hope it helps

Take a look at a book called Black and White Photography by Henry Horenstein: A Basic Manual...it had great diagrams and explains everything in a very easy to understand kind of way. Great to use for 35mm camera, or larger format. It also has instructions in darkroom techniques and practices. Amazon .com has it for around $15
