Hi. I'm a new user in college and a possible elementary education major.
I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas or activities, for an audience anywhere from kindergarten to fourth grade, regarding anything related to cells. This includes, and certainly is not limited to:
-Organelle functions
-Cellular respiration
-Cellular movement (internal or external)
It is probably ineffective to use and explain vocabulary like "semi-permeable membrane" and "catalase" for such an audience. To give you an idea of what I am looking for, my prof showed (my classmates and) me a simple demonstration of cellular respiration in which a balloon is fitted/fastened over a test tube about one-third full of a yeast solution. Maintaining the test tube upright, the balloon inflates with produced carbon dioxide gas.
Thank you, thoughts appreciated!
