I'm looking for ideas on creating my bulletin board. Anyone have a good idea for a bulletin board theme? I'm running short on creativity. Many thanks for your input.

If you are hunting something that can be used all year in the classroom, try "This Week in History." This becomes interactive for students because two students can be made responsible for putting up a new bulletin board each week after doing some research on the web or in the newspaper.

I always create a welcome back board. Students do an ALL ABOUT ME activity that is added to the board and help kids get to know one another.

I like to post the words of the subjects that I teach (Math, Reading, Spelling, e.t.c.) along the edge of the bulletin board. I then have the children draw a picture of themselves with their name written underneath on an unlined index card. The kids then tell me what their favorite subject is and I place their card next to that subject heading. This helps me to get to know my second graders a little better and also can be used as a basis for discussion and activities about graphing.
