I have been asked to produce a list of websites we can use for Science (in High School). Suggestions for any of the usual topics would be greatly appreciated and hopefully if we put together a decent list it will be of use to lots of people out there.
I have a couple to get the ball rolling...
1. http://chemeddl.org/collections/ptl/index.html - "The periodic table live" - makes teaching of the periodic table easier as it has loads of info, videos, etc.
2. www.what2learn.com - this has free access to hundreds of Science games and exam drills (along with content for most other subjects). It even records the scores the students have got to help you to monitor progress.
Please only suggest sites that have good content you can use for lessons and homework. Sites that are collections of links off to other sites are not what I am looking for.
Thanks in advance.

Have you checked out the Science Songs (http://www.learninggamesforkids.com/science_songs.html) on LearningGamesforKids.com?
They're really solid science.
The two that they have are for hurricanes and the Sun. I hear more are coming.

Site n°4
4°) http://physics.andreadecapoa.net
It is "a collection of YouTube videos selected by a physics teacher (me) for their educational value". I use this site to plan my lectures and the students seem to appreciate that.

Here's a fine site for Geography students (http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Geography.htm). They can learn about the continents, countries, capitals and rivers/lakes. There are also learning games on animals and nutrition.

Hi,
I totally agree to the fact that the author is trying to put over here. I liked his thought and appreciate his achievements.

Hello all, I am new here.
I am the owner and administrator of Science File, which is a science reference website with a huge wealth of science-related reference material which teachers may find useful. Although the site is not specifically aimed at educationalists, we have more than 500 science news feeds for the very latest science news, a categorised database of quality science websites with more than 6,000 currently listed, the internet's only calendar of UK-wide science events, science book reviews, science articles written by members plus a unique, categorised and searchable database of internet science news stories going back to the beginning of 2007, and which currently lists more than 10,000 articles.
We also offer The Science Forums, one of the internet's most popular places for discussing science, a science document library and search engines for online science databases. Plus a lot more!
Do forgive me if this sounds like a gratuitous plug, but we are very keen to establish links with teachers so that we can find out what they would like to see in terms of reference materials which they can use in the classroom or to prepare lessons. Our members range from science novices to professional scientists to science teachers, so all levels of scientific knowledge are catered for.
Anyway, we think we have assembled the largest collection of science reference materials in one place on the net, and would be extremely grateful for any feedback, ideas, suggestions or moans from your good selves.

Many thanks and kind regards
