I am currently a student at Melbourne University studying primary (elementary) teaching. For a group assignment on assessment we are to give a grade 1/2 class an activity/test of some kind and then rate how they went using a rubric of our creation.

For some unknown reason the lecturer wants us to have around 20 indicators (each with 3 to 4 criteria) for the rubrics.

We are making the assessment a combination comprehension/language elements activity and we think we can knock off around 15 or so indicators just with what we glean from their completed tests. However we would also like to supplement those with another 5 indicators or so, based around our anecdotal observations during the activity.

The reason I am writing this is because I have no idea what those actual anecdotal indicators might be! What indicators could we assess on that would not already be covered in the written activity?

Thanks for your time.

Pete.
