Any ideas on basic number recognition

I have a 5yr old that no matter what I have used for drills she doesn't seem to retain or recognize her basic numbers. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Katherine.

Maybe try to attach numbers to something she does seem to care about? Ask her what she likes, and try to somehow associate basic numbers with that topic.

Maybe try something fun and kinesthetic like filling a pan with sugar and drawing numbers in it together with your fingers.

Building numbers with play-doe are shaving cream. Then show value of a number with little balls or something. For instance, craft a three with play-doh then put three play-doe balls with it.
