Hello,
I'm a 24 year old college student from Germany.
I've been passionate about the French language for 7 years. I have another interest on top of that now: creating websites :-).
I'm thinking of creating a website on the topic of the French-speaking countries and how French is spoken/pronounced all around the world.
I basically plan on creating a map on which the French-speaking countries of the world are highlighted. The visitor will be able to click on each country and get to a page with lots of information about that country + videos/photos (to make it a bit more interactive than just a text page). Sort of a virtual guide to the francophonie.
However the icing on the cake will (hopefully) be that Ill get an inhabitant from each French-speaking country in the world to record an audio file (or even a video file) and tell us a little bit about his country and the role of the French language there. So the visitor of the website will get to hear each accent of French that is spoken in the world! I also plan on making it a fun thing to read/listen to (not a dry piece of information).
I know this sounds almost impossible to pull off, but I already know where and how to find these people and am on my way!;)
Another idea Ive had is that I could turn the whole thing into a listening comprehension exercise by thinking of questions for each of the voice clips about that particular country.
Do you French teachers out there think turning it into a listening comprehension exercise would be a good idea?
I was hoping that I could get some help from some of the French teachers here once I've put that website together, b/c I think a teacher would probably have a better idea of how to structure (exp?) such an exercise than myself.
How do you like this idea? Do you have any additional suggestions/ideas for it? If so please let me know! thanks!
